benefits of biofuels
Biofuels are liquid fuels made from
plants instead of petroleum. Biodiesel and ethanol are non-toxic,
biodegradable, clean burning, and road tested replacements for diesel
and gasoline. The use of pure or blended biofuels reduces toxic air
emissions, greenhouse gas buildup, and dependence on imported oil while
supporting local agricultural economies. Biofuel use is cost-effective
due to reduced operating and maintenance costs, financial incentives,
positive marketing potential and finite petroleum supplies.
